Franklin Street Fine Woodwork is based in Tampa FL, we have been designing and building unique furniture for over fifteen years. As you browse through our work we hope that you share our passion for heritage quality workmanship, beautiful exotic woods and designs that are both unique and functional. We love what we do.
Clients: We work with individual home owners, as well as work with Architects, Interior Designers, and General Contractors.
Background: The Company was originally founded in 2003 under the name of Swann Woodwork, with a name change in 2009 to Franklin Street Fine Woodwork LLC and is headquartered in Tampa, FL. Franklin Street Furniture moved to its current location at 1609 N. Franklin St after a year of renovating the 100 year old building. The new storefront location features the latest designs, current sculptural pieces and sample work of Franklin Street’s products.
We have long standing partnership with other artisans – metal worker, jewerly makers, upholsterers and our collaboration results in exclusive pieces that you won’t find anywhere else.
Philosophy: To design and build works of such unique design and quality that it changes our clients’ feelings about furniture and adds new elements of beauty and comfort to their homes and lives.

Kate Swann, a school taught (OCAC.edu) designer and maker gre
w up in England. Kate’s design style is a tailored blend of natural and contemporary elements that create highly function works of art.
While her personal style tends to lean towards Asian influenced elements, her work general incorporates contrasting elements such as organic live edge slabs with highly stylized surface embellishments resulting in timeless character filled pieces. Raised in England, Kate has traveled and worked throughout the world – Shepherdess in Southern France, Rock Climbing Instructor in North Wales, Explorer in Northern Chile, and Au Pair in Switzerland,
Carl Johnson, a master craftsman with a life time of experience, in stand-alone furniture. The process of building a fine piece of furniture is
something that he easily relates to after thirty years of regulating the development of buildings and structures for the City of Tampa.
A native of Tampa, Carl has studied with master craftsmen such as Marc Adams, Chris Glocnour and Michael Fortune. Carl’s work has recently been shown at galleries such as the Florida Craftsmen, Artful Soul and Willow Arts.
